A fanlisting is merely a listing of fans of a certain subject matter. She made a site that gathered
fans of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and it just snowballed from there. Now there are fanlistings for
almost anything you can think of. In this case, the listing is for fans of a particular couple from a
book/movie/stage show.
"The Phantom of the Opera"
» Originally a novel written by Gaston Leroux in 1911, PotO tells the story of a horribly disfigured man who lives in the lakes beneath the Paris Opera House and falls in love with a young Soprano named Christine Daae. In order to further her career and to win her affections, he coaches her voice from behind the mirror in her dressing room and kills or threatens those who get in the way of her success. His romantic ambitions are thwarted when Christine's childhood friend Raoul de Chagny shows up and the two fall in love. In the climax of the story, Erik (the Phantom) kidnaps Raoul and gives an ultimatum to Christine: Stay and marry Erik or Raoul will be killed. Christine chooses to stay, thereby freeing Raoul, and Erik is so moved by her compassion that he lets the two lovers go and dies soon after.
